About
What is The Craft of Change?
The Craft of Change is for people who see themselves as craftsmen of change inside organisations — leaders who use technology not as an end in itself, but as a lever for transformation.
They’re leaders. They’re not waiting for permission to act. They’re the people inside organisations who make things happen — translating between the world of technology and the world of business and pushing organisations forward even when it’s hard.
This newsletter is built around a simple belief: that transformation is a craft, not an event. And like any craft, it improves with study, practice, and honest feedback from people who’ve been there.
About the author
The Craft of Change is written by Ivan Rapin-Smith. I have spent 30 years building at the intersection of technology, organisations, and change — co-founding startups, running accelerators on two continents, and since 2014 leading Watsco Ventures, the corporate venture and startup studio of a Fortune 500 company.
I write about what history tells us about the present and what the present can tell us about how to shape the future — because the patterns repeat, and understanding them is one of the few genuine edges available to anyone navigating transformation today.
